We are planning a volunteer project team back to Rwanda for November 2020 for up to four weeks. We can take up to nine people.

We shall be spending the first period of time in Mibilizi Hospital where we are assisting with a renovation and painting programme and we will then go to Bugarama to assist with the painting and renovation at Ryankana and Muko.

We are also looking forward to a big celebration for the new classrooms which have been built at Muko School.

Some people have difficulty getting four weeks leave. If that’s the case, we can make flexible arrangements for volunteers to leave early.

In 2021, we shall be joining up with Jersey Overseas Aid to assist with the project in Nyakagoma to complete building the primary school there. We don’t expect volunteers to get involved with the actual construction work which will be undertaken by a contracted building company. But there will be plenty to do painting the finished classrooms.

If you have specific skills, for example educational or medical or something technical, we would be happy to discuss how we could make use of those skills.

We have a number of orientation sessions to prepare volunteers for spending time in Africa. As we come into contact with local young people we take safeguarding very seriously and deal with these issues as part of our preparation.
