SOURCE OF FUNDS
We have had fantastic financial support from the Jersey Overseas Aid Commission who have recognized us as a local Jersey charity with active links with overseas communities. We have received a number of substantial grants as well as 50:50 match-funding grants (where JOA matches money that we have raised ourselves).
We have received some generous grants from local trust companies as well as large individual donations from private individuals.
We organise the GREAT NORTH COAST CHARITY CHALLENGE. This popular annual local event is a 19 mile sponsored walk over the rugged north coast of the island, and is a great boost to our funds.
Volunteers also raise money for their projects through a variety of events, such as quizzes, packing bags at supermarkets, raffles, cake sales, undertaking jobs such as gardening, painting, rubbish removal, pub collections, BBQs, car boot sales … The ‘Reg Factor’ a talent show at Reg’s Garden was a particularly imaginative and successful venture. The list goes on.
A number of long-term supporters provide regular support through covenants which enable us to claim back income tax paid on the donations. We also operate a sponsorship scheme which supports students through secondary and higher education.
Our 100 Club also provides a steady income. Participants pay £10 per month and are entered into a monthly prize draw. Details of the 100 Club can be found on our donate page.
Our Annual Accounts are published at our AGM. Our latest financial figures are available HERE:
