WHAT WE DO

The HATW Jersey branch is run entirely on a voluntary basis by people who have participated in project teams in Brazil, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia and Kenya. We receive generous support from other local people and organisations in Jersey who have known David Steiner and his work to help improve the lives of children in Africa and Asia.

We have had fantastic financial support from the Jersey Overseas Aid Commission who have recognized us as a local Jersey Charity with active links with overseas communities. They have funded construction projects for schools, vocational training centres and health centres

We work with our volunteers and partners overseas to support centres, providing education and training and improving medical facilities for vulnerable children and teenagers.

Volunteers are integral to our work. We have active links with partner organisations overseas through project visits, generally lasting between 3-4 weeks. Jersey volunteers, who are given orientation by us, give their time and experience, working alongside local people in the communities abroad in practical tasks such as building, painting, skills training and teaching.
